What Is a CTF?

A CTF, or Capture the Flag, is a cybersecurity competition where you solve challenges to find hidden pieces of text called flags. Challenges can involve topics such as cryptography, websites, programming, digital forensics, and reverse engineering.

When you find a flag, you submit it to earn points. Flags can use many different formats depending on the competition, including:

• wcsc{example_flag}
• CyberCamp{example_flag}
• 502ctf{example_flag}
• Other formats

Always check the challenge instructions so you know what flag format to look for.
